ABOUT Corinne Marchetti

Originally from Marseille, Corinne Marchetti has emerged as a figure in contemporary art since the 2000s. She contributes to a redefinition of the perception of artistic techniques connoted "ladies' work", such as embroidery, ceramics and watercolor, by integrating them into a renewed contemporary perspective.

Her work explores societal dynamics and cultural representations through narratives imbued with irony, offering an invitation to reflect on our times. Over two decades, she shared her work at numerous international exhibitions and fairs, from Shanghai to New York. Her creations include various public and private collections, including those of the Municipal Fund of the city of Marseille and the Frac Franche-Comté.

Her recent series of miniature ceramics, inspired by Picasso's pottery in Vallauris, encourages us to handle a certain conceptual subtlety, paying homage to the master in an intimate and playful way.

Beyond her exploration of relationships of scale, her artistic universe, imbued with humor, shakes up conventions, offering a distinctive and unique look at the world. Transforming simple anecdotes into poetry, as in the series on ceramic fashion accessories, she questions the boundaries between authenticity and reproduction, particularly sensitive in the field of luxury. This approach highlights the complexity of perceptions linked to these objects and their intrinsic value, thus offering an artistic meditation on the changing nature of desire and possession.

Corinne Marchetti graduated from the Beaux-Arts of Luminy in Marseille and the Villa Arson in Nice. She also contributes to artistic editions, publications and collective catalogs.
