ABOUT SÉBASTIEN GAFARI
Architect and designer. An unconditional love for spaghetti Bolognese, airports, my cat, and old universities. A studio was founded in 2017 to develop a unique approach influenced by the history of interiors. I chose not to choose between the fields of arts and architecture in order to offer a transversal vision to the project. My attention is focused on the narration of places and the revelation of emotions linked to a visible or imaginary heritage. I am committed to reinventing the historical trumeau.
This medium is interpreted as a contemporary piece, somewhere between reflection and architecture. In 2024, this research led me to be selected as a finalist for Design Parade at Villa Noailles with Palazzo, in collaboration with Sara Guédès. This significant recognition paves the way for new collaborations, notably with India Mahdavi. Combining traditional craftsmanship with experimentation, the work focuses on creating pieces where memory and perception are reinvented. In 2025, several works will be exhibited at the POMO Museum in Norway. Each trumeau becomes a unique creation, offering a renewed perspective on the world around us to better tame and love it.
