ABOUT Agnieszka Owsiany
Trained as an architect, Agnieszka Owsiany runs a multidisciplinary practice in Poznań, Poland. Exploring materials, while focusing on architecture, she discovers a traditional technique of making tapestry with punch needle. After months of self-learning and experimentation, she developed her own way of using this tool to create various pieces of textile art.
Deeply rooted in nature, Agnieszka Owsiany creates soft, organic shapes meant to soothe the viewer. Influenced by the work of the Sardinian sculptor Costantino Nivola, she recently explores the boundaries between textiles and sculpture, giving rise to a series of textile reliefs playing with shadows and different surfaces.
Agnieszka Owsiany only uses unprocessed materials from local sources, small manufacturers and producers.
