ABOUT CLAIRE COSNEFROY
Claire Cosnefroy was born in Cotentin in France, from where she keeps a strong love for nature and sea. She began her artistic career at the Atelier de Sèvres and then at ESAA Duperré in Paris, before moving on to fashion (Vogue, Elle, Grazia) and music: from then on, her path was like a permanent bridge between several places, several worlds, several lives.
Her encounter with clay a few years ago gave her new tools to express her creativity. From then on, she fully committed herself to this path and developed a unique language by shaping sculptures and decorative pieces out of stoneware and porcelain, using pinching and coiling techniques.
Her work is based on the search for an instinctive gesture and rapid execution, to encourage the spontaneous shaping of her ideas. Far from striving for perfection, she favours simple, raw forms in vibrant, organic textures.
After Paris and Burgundy, she is now based in Arles.
