ABOUT Marchetti VAISSELLE
Originally from Marseille, Corinne Marchetti stands out for her ability to transform techniques considered feminine, such as embroidery, ceramics and watercolor, by placing them in a contemporary context. Through her works, she addresses societal issues and cultural representations with an irony that invites reflection.
With "Marchetti Vaisselle", the artist creates a space of freedom where the questions of traditional hierarchies of the art world are overcome. It’s a way for her to connect with the public as opposed to hermeticism. Addressing the themes of art and everyday life, the fluidity between art and life, intimacy, the ordinary and the precious.
It is at the foot of the little Luberon that Corinne Marchetti found her studio, imagining it as a factory of unique pieces, echoing the story of Picasso going to Vallauris to make ceramics. Through “Marchetti Vaisselle”, she pays a mischievous homage to it through a play on scale and the feminine device of the miniature, the “Picasso petit” collection comes to life. A work in your pocket, a collection in your handbag. Each miniature, although inspired, through the filter of her memory, by Picasso's shapes, motifs or themes, becomes the expression of her own vision, because to remake is already something else.
