ABOUT Marie-Christine Meyer
Marie-Christine Meyer is originally from Hyères. She lives and works between Marseille and the peninsula of Giens.
Trained in the prestigious Terre studio of Jean and Jacqueline Lerat at the National School of Fine Arts in Bourges, she has kept the state of mind intact: particular attention paid to natural elements, the sea, stones, plants..., the acuteness of a look at everything around us, a conception of the artistic gesture as a continuity of this environment and without watertight border between fine arts, crafts, design or decorative arts.
Her taste for natural materials finds a privileged field of exploration in ceramics, which she practices with ingenuity and permanent renewal. She gives a simplicity and modernity to this ancestral material that is terracotta.
Jean Roch Bouiller, Curator of the Rennes Museum of Fine Arts.
